Olney Theatre Center for the Arts seeks a dynamic and creative fundraising and events professional to join our Advancement team. Reporting to the Director of Advancement, the Individual Giving and Special Events Manager will support the organization’s overall fundraising efforts with a focus on donors who give under $2000 annually and the planning and execution of fundraising events. The Individual Giving and Special Events Manager will play a key role in a premier arts organization and will be responsible for helping to significantly increase contributed income. The ideal candidate possesses the ability to successfully interact with a multitude of personalities while remaining focused on institutional goals and objectives.

The Individual Giving and Special Events Manager will:

  • Implement fundraising plans for sustaining and growing the number of annual donors and increasing gift amounts to meet annual fundraising goals;
  • Manage a portfolio of under $2000 donors ensuring proper stewardship to achieve donor retention and upgrades;
  • Support the scheduling and planning of fundraising and donor events and manage day of execution of events including donor receptions, opening night celebrations, and the annual gala;
  • Support the public launch and full implementation of OTC's Staging the Future 25-million-dollar Capital Campaign through prospect research, donor cultivation activities, and campaign associated special events.
  • In concert with Advancement Operations Manager, support new funder prospecting, including research, analysis of fit, and proposal writing;
  • Coordinate donor benefit fulfillment with the Advancement Operations Manager to ensure exceptional donor experiences;
  • Work closely with the five-person Advancement team to support all aspects of the department's work as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for performing arts a must;
  • 1-3 years fundraising and event planning or similar experience, or a combination of education and professional experience;
  • Superior interpersonal skills, including the confidence to interact with donors and other VIPs with ease, and to represent the Theatre with tact, diplomacy and confidentiality;
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with particular strength in writing persuasively
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to conduct and coordinate multiple tasks and meet deadlines;
  • Availability to work evening hours and weekends, as needed;
  • Knowledge of Tessitura or other fundraising software is preferred.

Salary: $40,000 and benefits are:
