Olney Theatre Center has provided opportunities for high school and college students to get an introduction to the arts industry and gain experience working in an office and a professional theatre. Internships are determined on an ad hoc basis, depending on the interests of the individual students and the needs of our upcoming productions. In the past, we’ve had students intern as office assistants for a semester, production assistants during rehearsals, teaching assistants during our summer camps, or even assisting our props team building props in the scene shop. While we cannot guarantee a placement, we can do our best to cater the experience to your specific needs.
If you are interested in interning with Olney Theatre, please email [email protected] and include the answers to these questions in the body of your email or a video with you answering these questions. You also have the option to send along any other relevant materials like a resume, portfolio, or writing sample, etc. Please note, internships are unpaid but are capable of receiving course credit or Student Service Learning (SSL) hours.
- Where do you go to school and what grade are you in?
- Give details about the time frame for your internship? (Are you looking for something semester-long? Two weeks? Summer?)
- What interests you about interning at Olney Theatre Center and what do you want to learn from us?
- Have you seen a theatre production before? If so, what has been your favorite production you’ve seen? Tell us about that experience.
