Laughter is surely the best medicine -- even at this moment -- and Alan Wade has inspired lots of laughs. This time last year, Alan was the frantically funny Saunders in Ken Ludwig’s A Comedy of Tenors. His character was driven to ensure that the show would go on and indeed it did, after a fashion.
We share Saunders’ determination, if not his ruthlessness, at Olney Theatre Center. Right now the only thing more important than delivering productions that unleash the creative potential of our artists and audiences is ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
As we figure out how best to return to the stage, we have board members like Alan Wade, whose insights, good humor and dedication to Olney Theatre Center are helping to guide the way. Meet him, and you’ll see what we mean.
Even amidst the current challenges, we’re taking time to reflect on our successes and look forward. We hope you are too. That’s what the Olney Onward! Fund is all about. If you are in a position to do so, your support keeps our focus on the future when audiences, actors, and artists can reunite at the theatre.
To the many of you who have already made a gift, thank you!
