On February 1, Olney Theatre Center held an all-day free open house, Miss You Like Home, where artists, patrons and community members came together to celebrate what it means to be at home in America. The day culminated in a StorySlam. The rules for the StorySlam were simple: Prepare a 3-5 minute story about “home,” whatever that means to you. Everyone in the room was deeply moved by each other’s stories.
We were able to hear some people’s stories in person at Miss You Like Home. However, we still want to hear what home means to you. We are asking people to share their story on our website. Just click the “Start Recording” button, listen and submit. Last week, Artistic Director Jason Loewith submitted his story about home. Following in his footsteps, Mita Schaffer has submitted her story, and you can listen on our Share Your Story webpage or below.
